Baccara has become a rip off. Went there a couple of weeks ago and they charged me THB140 for a water. Go elsewhere is my recommendation

Elephants Leg (cool handle BTW) - I think your experiences are pretty much par for the course all over Bangkok now, even Thailand as a whole.
I have not experienced this in Bacarra (yet) but have in many other gogo bars. That isn't to say it doesn't happen in Bacarra, in fact I am sure it does.
Bacarra is almost certainly the top spot in Soi Cowboy (maybe even BKK as a whole) but the moral to the tale is that you need to keep your wits about you wherever you happen to be these days.
Agree with the previous comment. Very good bar in its own right with, for my money, the best-looking girls in Bangkok, but on my last visit one of them talked to me for a short while, then left when she figured I wasn't going to be a customer. Thought that was that, as usual, but she returned a few minutes later with a ladydrink and tried to put the slip in my bill holder. She hadn't even asked and I thought I'd made it obvious I wasn't interested! I refused to accept the slip and a manager came to discuss it. Luckily I know a little Thai so they realised I wasn't fresh off the plane and accepted my word - but I'm sure this happens quite a lot. I have been to Baccara several times and always consider it a good place to show newcomers to Bangkok, but I can't accept such tactics.

Long regarded as one of Soi Cowboys best gogo bars, Baccara has suffered a downturn recently due to repeated reports of bill padding and aggressive drink begging by the staff. Compounded by the fact that the mamasans and managers seem reluctant to do anything about it.
Reality is that this is probably a natural \"Thai\" reaction to falling business lost to other gogos in the Soi that have recently had extensive redec\'s. As numbers fall the natural Thai way always seems to be to increase drinks prices and try to extract more baht from the falling numbers instead of, the more obvious ploy, doing whatever is necessary to win back the visitor numbers. No doubt the owners give minimum turnover targets to the mamasans and that is their prime objective with scant regard given to customer service.
Baccara will have to work VERY hard to regain its pre-eminence in the Soi.
